Festo DSBC cylinders are a standards based cylinder with dimensions according to ISO 15552; this means that the DSBC cylinders can be interchanged with other manufacturers cylinders that conform to this standard. The DSBC is also the successor to the Festo DNC and DNCB cylinders that also conformed to this standard. As well as conforming to ISO 15552, these cylinders also conform to the withdrawn standards; ISO 6431, DIN ISO 6431, VDMA 24 562, NF E 49 003.1 and UNI 10290, with its compliant dimensions the DSBC can easily be used to replace a broad selection of cylinders.
DSBC cylinders are one of the most used cylinders in the world due to their superior technology and long service life. Festo cylinders are ideally suited to demanding applications were high loads and fast speeds are required. DSBC cylinders can be configured according to the individual needs of the application, different stroke lengths, piston rod shapes, high temperature seals and certification for ATEX areas are all selectable variants.
- Piston Diameters: 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 63mm, 80mm, 100mm and 125mm
- Stroke lengths: 1…2800mm
- Force: 483…7363N
- Conforms to ISO 15552
Festo DSBC cylinders are available in a wide selection of piston diameters from 32mm to 100mm and stroke lengths from 1mm to 2800mm. DSBC cylinders are a double acting cylinders, requiring compressed air for operation in both directions. The force produced from the cylinder can be changed by selecting a different piston bore diameter, forces between 483N…7363N at a pressure of 6 bar are available.
What Options can be Selected with a DSBC Cylinder?
Festo DSBC cylinders are highly flexible thanks to the wide range of available variants and accessories. Three types of cushioning are available; mechanical cushioning rings using the latest elastic cushioning rings/pad technology, pneumatic adjustable cushioning that is adjustable at either end and also the latest self-adjusting cushioning, the self-adjusting cushioning is also a patented technology to Festo that offers a superior cushioning technology over standard cushioning. Self-adjusting cushioning offers optimum cushioning with every stroke even with varying loads and speeds, with adjustable cushioning the cushioning would need to set-up for each change. Mechanical cushioning is given the prefix P in the type code, adjustable cushioning PPV and self-adjusting PPS.
DSBC cylidners are available with one of the widest choices of selectable variants; square pistons, clamping units, end-position locking, low friction, through piston rods and female threaded piston rods can all be selected. Cylinder proximity sensors can be used thanks to the magnet contained within the piston; proximity sensors can also be mounted into the cylinder body utilising the integrated sensor slot.
- Cushioning: Fixed (P), Adjustable (PPV) and Self-adjusting (PPS)
- Position Sensing
- A wide range of accessories
DSBC cylinders have a multitude of different piston rod attachments available; rod eyes, rod clevis, coupling pieces and cylinder guides. Different mounting options are also available using the extensive range of mounting accessories; foot mounting, swivel flanges and trunnion mounting can all be selected.
The DSBC cylinders displayed on our site are the most common variants, due to the different configurations available your DSBC cylinder type code may not be listed, in this case please contact the sales team for a quotation.
